Onsite café open seven days per week with an extensive range of meals and cakes. A beautician and hairdresser provide regular services to our residents 6 days a week.
We are only a short drive from the Vineyards and Famous Newcastle Beaches. Warabrook Centre is a modern facility with qualified and experienced staff available to support the complex care needs of any Resident. All areas are managed by full time Registered Nurses, families and residents are involved in the development and review of the care plan which is based on our RESPECT values. A Registered Nurse is on duty 24 hours per day. A range of external specialist services are available to support resident care needs, such as Palliation and Dementia. Residents with dementia are offered a secure environment where their care is individualised and family involved to understand their care needs to plan care delivery. Family support groups and a "wives" group meet regularly. An activity program is specifically designed and individualised to meet the needs of residents with memory loss. Catering is provided at a high standard and regular meetings with residents and families ensure the menus reflect the residents expectations; The individual dietary requirements of any Resident will be met by our highly qualified staff in consultation with residents and families. An onsite Chaplain is available to all residents and families and ministers of other denominations visit and are welcomed to the facility. Regular inter-denominational services are conducted in the Chapel and devotions are led by the Chaplain in all resident areas. General Practitioners, Physiotherapists, and Podiatrist visit regularly. A personal trainer is available to provide a "gym group" for able residents. A pain management clinic is available with a Physiotherapist delivering treatment for referred residents. Physiotherapy programs are available to residents to promote well-being, mobility and independence. A Dental Clinic and Hearing Clinic are conducted regularly on site. Pharmacy services are provided by an offsite pharmacy. There is access to mobile x-ray services. Resident activities are varied and responsive to the individual needs of our residents and include regular outings to places of interest and shopping centres. A large communal area, Casuarina Room, is used for concerts, including the resident band performances. Broadband for Seniors provides two computers with internet connection for resident use.
